Anti–fatigue mats can be a blessing, especially when approximately 45 million Americans suffer from arthritis and 65 million from lower back pain. Many millions more suffer from various painful foot conditions such as plantar fasciitis and heel spur. Such sufferers, and people who stand for extended periods of time, like busy moms in the kitchen or teachers at school, obtain significant relief from anti–fatigue mats. Anti–fatigue mats offset the force and pressure exerted by a person’s body weight on joints like the knees and ankles, and lower back. Hard floors like stone, ceramic tiles and concrete are especially unforgiving and tend to exacerbate such pain. Anti–fatigue mats absorb the forces exerted when standing or walking and will help minimize any pain.

Anti–fatigue mats come in many materials such as gel, vinyl sponge and orthopedic rubber. They are available in many different styles and colors and can compliment almost any décor. These mats are very comfortable and are recommended for anyone, with or without joint pain. If you haven’t tried an anti–fatigue mat, you might want to. You may wonder how you ever lived without one. Below are examples of anti-fatigue kitchen mats in a wood finish, perfect for today's kitchen.
